About Evie’s Closet
Situated on the northeast corner of Saiyge Lotus’ wonderful Oubliette sim, Evie’s Closet is my first professional SL build. It features a very natural sylvan theme that plays on owner Evangeline Miles‘ elven roots. The leaf-shaped roof that caps the front and back of the store itself incorporates a leafy pattern. The luxurious wall textures were created from photographs of a neighborhood tree, and the built-in firelight housings were built from a photograph of snowy winter tree branches outside my house.
Details
Here is a close-up view of the wall and lighting textures. There are a couple dozen light posts in Evie’s Closet, so I used a complete wraparound texture and randomly rotated each lamp screen individually to prevent the eye from discerning a pattern. This added to the natural, organic feel.
The crowning glory was the chandelier in the entrance. Designed to echo the secondary theme of gold and silver buds, each branch of the chandelier is finished with a cut-glass flower that again makes use of the branch texture that I used for the lighting and key focal points throughout the build.

Working with Evie is a delight. She’s an immensely talented artist, and every step of the way I felt like this was an amazing collaborative partnership. Thanks for the opportunity, Evie!
